CBT 503 Plant Physiology I

Photosynthesis: photosynthetic apparatus and functions, photochemical reactions and photophosphorylation, stomotal movement and intake of CO₂, transportation and reduction of CO₂, regulations of photosynthesis and photorespiration; translocation of sugar; phloem tissue, mechanism of phloem loading and unloading, source-sink activity and sugar translocation; respiration: glycolysis and utilization of glycotic products under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, TCA cycle and oxidative pentose phosphate pathway, respiration and crop yield: growth and development in plants: physiological bases of quantitative growth analysis, photo-periodism and physiology of flowering, maturation and senescence.
